Our History
Parkway Christian School, Inc. was founded in September 1995 by Mrs. Barbara Jordan. Parkway is a private Christian extention school with a very unique and highly successful approach to the teaching/ learning experience.

Because of the increasing number of high school students finding themselves frustrated, unsuccessful, and "falling through the cracks," combined with the desire to provide a Christian education at the high school level, PCSI opened it's doors and began recieving students at the original home in Katy, Texas. Parkway remained in Katy for the first six years. Then, in the summer of 2000, the school relocated to its current home in Spring (The Woodlands), Texas. The school continues to reach new students by word-of-mouth advertisement and satisfied students and parents who share with others the success and happiness they enjoy while at Parkway, as well as being recommended by faculty, staff, and administrators of other schools, both public and private.

Parkway Christian School, Inc. is dedicated to academic excellence with a blended approach that includes the education of the entire student. The highly acclaimed and accredited A BEKA curriculum provides the foundation of our intructional program directed by our staff of dedicated, qualified, and caring instructors. Our one-on-one instructional methods enable students to excel in their academics. The self-paced study process utilized at Parkway has proven to be extremely successful, allowing those who desire, to work at an "accelerated" pace. The combination of the curriculum used, along with the methods utilized, prepares students graduating from Parkway to continue on in institutions of higher education.

In the beginning, Parkway worked with high school students only. However, we have now expanded to include junior high students on a case-by-case basis, through our home-bound program. To date, some 1,500 students have graduated PCSI, the over-riding majority of whom have gone on to schools of higher education: universities and colleges ( domestic and international), vocational schools, and technical schools.

Our commitment, at PCSI is to provide a high-quality education in a spiritual environment for every student. We are committed to providing a stress and frustration-free learning experience, enabling every student to work in a relaxed atmosphere, giving them the confidence they need to acheieve their educational goals efficiently.

 Accreditations

Parkway Christian School, Inc. uses A BEKA as the primary curriculum for student education. The A BEKA curriculum is accredited by FACCS ( Florida Association of Christian Colleges and Schools); CITA (Council on International Trans-regional Accreditation); and SACS/CASI ( Southern Association of Colleges and Schools/ Council on Accreditation and School Improvement) whose accreditation is recognized throughout the world. The A BEKA curriculum is also recognized and accepted by the TEA (Texas Education Association), by universities and colleges both domestically as well as internationally, and by vocational and technical schools. Graduates of PCSI are readily accepted by these educational institutions upon satisfaction of their entry requirements.
PCSI uses a "self-paced" approach to student education which allows students to progress at their own pace, while still providing the boundaries that adolescents need. This will potentially allow them to graduate earlier than they could if attending a "group-paced" program, helping those students who feel held back or unchallenged by their peers in a traditional school setting. Our program will also allow the student who is behind their original schedule for graduation to get back on track, as well as preparing them for the independence and expectations of college courses.
